Graeme of Thrones

The Garden of Unearthly Delights, Umbrella Revolution, until March 19

Review by Honey B

Avid Game of Thrones fan, Graeme, attempts to re-create his favourite TV series on-stage. Graeme is selling his low-budget theatrical idea to potential investors with two other thespians. The fun of this ridiculous show is the cheesy, homemade props and the over-the-top performances. There were some wonderful and unexpected reveals and the nude suits were absolutely hilarious. The television show’s opening sequence was recreated beautifully with just hula hoops and umbrellas – sheer brilliance. Highlights included Sansia’s first period scene, Drogo and Daenerys wedding love song and a puppet used to portray one of the show’s most evil characters. You don’t need to be a Game of Thrones fan to enjoy this show, but a little bit of knowledge is a good thing. Sure this show was pretty silly, but that’s what Fringe is all about.
