Captain Fun Pants and the Mystery of the Funomatic Fun Wand

Adelaide Fringe, Garden of Unearthly Delights, Le Cascadeur, until March 15

Review by Honey B

Captain Fun Pants and his trusty pirate mate No Beard could have quite easily ditched the pants at Saturday's 40-odd degree performance (February 22). The hardworking pirates certainly worked up a good sweat as kids and adults alike laughed at their ridiculous antics. The twosome (Heath Franklin and Harley Breen) go on an adventure to find the Funomatic Fun Wand after the nasty Sammy the Seagull steals it. This leads the pirates on a journey through the Forrest of Farts, to the Island of Puke and Bedtime Island. This show played out wonderfully well to the boys in the audience, with my nine year old enjoying the antics in the Forrest of Farts and the pink-wigged princess on Puke Island was similar to the princess in TV series Adventure Time. The adventure was a swashbuckling, frenetic journey with plenty of laughs for all and loads of fun on the high seas. Gather up your mates and don't miss this pirate comedy party.
