Pink's latest live DVD sees her soar to new heights

Review by Honey B

Those who saw one of Pink's record-breaking 46 shows here in Australia will enjoy re-living the experience with the release of her live DVD, The Truth About Love Tour: Live From Melbourne. And those who didn't experience the thrill of the live show will kick themselves once they see what they missed. The effervescent performer wowed packed house after packed house with her high- energy show including mind- boggling acrobatics, theatrics and plenty of humour. It's no surprise Pink decided to film her DVD in Melbourne after selling a record-breaking 17 shows in the city and this DVD comes after the Funhouse tour which was filmed in Sydney in 2009 - the powerhouse entertainer is definitely an honorary Aussie. The Truth About Love DVD features 21 songs spanning her exceptional career and I loved sharing this DVD with my young family who didn't get to see the show. Whether it's a slow song, a fast song or a tongue-in-cheek tune, Pink knocks it out of the park. It's wonderful to see the fans cheer and sing and for her part, Pink gives back as much as she can signing autographs and enjoying fans gifts. Watching the DVD it's wonderful to see her rapport with her audience and Pink along with her fabulous dancers and musos make the whole spectacle seem so easy and so much fun. The breathtaking show features Pink launching herself through the air at several opportunities - she's fearless. Song highlights included her slow-burn cover of Chris Isaak's Wicked Game, her passionate Nate Ruess duet Just Give Me A Reason and an exhilarating spinning around version of Sober - just beautiful. It's also hard to go past Just Like A Pill, U + UR Hand and Leave Me Alone and the passionate section featuring Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time and Who Knew were just beautiful. Of course, being a Pink show her finale has to be seen to be believed and is just as amazing on DVD as at the show. She certainly soars and took the last number, So What to new heights. This fantastic DVD also has some added extras including The Truth About Tour, A Day In The Life Of Rubix and Slut Like You (Bluegrass Version). The Truth About Love: Live From Melbourne is out now.
