Frank Woodley in Fool’s Gold

Adelaide Fringe, Arts Theatre

Review by Honey B

Frank Woodley is certainly no fool. But the genius that is Woodley is that he plays the fool brilliantly. This comedic genius befriends the audience and takes them into his crazy world of ribbon twirling, funny accents and bizarre stories and songs with seamless ease. His physical comedy is spot on and this loveable, lanky larrikin knows his strengths - as he says he's "not Charlie Pickering.'' What sets Woodley apart is that he can truly make people believe that comedy mishaps are not scripted - it's a special kind of magic he possesses and one we can't get enough of. Woodley has struck gold with this enthralling, chaotic show.
